District heating

District heating

When it comes to district heating, the objectives of the Grenelle Environment Round Table are clear:
by 2020, triple the number of housing equivalents connected and provide 75% of heating networks with renewable or recovered energy.
Heating networks currently serve 2.1 million equivalent housing units. Tripling this number to 6 million housing equivalents will require massive expansion of the 420 existing large-scale heating networks and the creation of many new networks. All of these projects will be supported by the Heat Fund, created at the end of 2008, and/or by European or regional grants.

It is in this context that the Commune of La Courneuve is undergoing major development work on its territory.
